NEW CHAPEL HOURS
The Chapel is now open from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm every day EXCEPT FRIDAYS. Come and spend some time in prayer in the Chapel, surrounded by many saints, Our Lord will hear you.

NEW ALTAR SERVER INSTALLATION
Three new Altar Servers will be installed at the 6:00 pm Mass on Saturday, September 4th. Our Parish welcomes our newest servers, William Dank, Kaitlyn Felsing and Lindsay Felsing. Please keep these and all of our Altar Servers in your prayers. We appreciate the dedication of all of our servers to Most Holy Name Parish.

THE CHOIR IS BACK!
A new music season is a few weeks away here at Most Holy Name, and we would like you to consider becoming a member of our music ministry. If you enjoy music, what is keeping YOU from MAKING A JOYFUL NOISE? Come and join us for the first practice, which is scheduled for Wednesday, September 8th, beginning at 7:30 pm. You don’t have to audition, You don’t have to read music, You don’t have to be available every week, and it doesn’t take a lot of time...it just takes YOU!

We are also on the lookout for CANTORS FOR MASS. If you are interested in either being a Cantor or Choir Member and have questions, please Jean Werner, our Music Director, after Mass.

ANNUAL WOMEN’S RETREAT
“Because Christ Lives in Me” is the theme of this years Women's Retreat. Come and spend a weekend with the Lord on September 10-12 at St. Paul of the Cross Retreat Center. For more information, please call Margaret Leo at 412-322-1184 or Eileen Wehner at 412-231-0677.

PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL MEETING
Well, I don’t know about you but the summer sure did go fast! Here it is September already. The Parish Pastoral Council meeting is September 13th, 2010 at 7:00pm in the school hall. We should all be refreshed and ready to start serving our God and parish again. So, I hope to see all the Council members on September 13th.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS
CCD classes begin on Sunday, September 19th and take place 10:15-11:30 in the School Building. Please note: Parents/Guardians are asked to attend the first class with their child this year. This “open house” is a wonderful opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and see what your child will be learning this year. After visiting the classroom, all parents/ guardians are invited to the school hall for refreshments! If you have questions or need assistance, please contact Steven Swank at 412-231-3002 or mhncre@yahoo.com. Also, teen helpers are needed to assist with the program. If you are in high school and would like to help, please call or email Steve.

70TH BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR MHN GRADUATES
A 70th Birthday Party is planned for the 1954 graduates of Most Holy Name School for Sunday, September 19th at 4 pm. The party will be held at 1519 Hoff Street, Troy Hill. For more information, call Rita at 412-321-1667.

RCIA
The first of the RCIA Sessions will begin on Thursday, September 23rd. at 6:30 PM in the Administration Building. The first several sessions called “The Inquiry Period” will deal with the opening of Sacred Scripture, Prayer, and the movement of the Holy Spirit. This is a time of sharing and exploring our relationship with God.

OKTOBERFEST NEWS
We have some fun things planned for this years’ Oktoberfest! Dick Tady and his Orchestra will play for our 6:00 Polka Mass, and then down in the School Hall for some after-dinner Polka! Prizes will be given away each hour after Mass, with our $1000 Cash Raffle being pulled at 9:45 pm. We are looking for some donations to make this a success: Items for the Chinese & Silent Auctions; Gift cards for Grocery Stores or Gas; Bottles of Wine or Liquor; and donations of baked goods for the Bake Sale. And Bakers - Get your favorite dessert recipe ready for our Annual Dessert Bake Off!

VATICAN TREASURES TOUR
Most Holy Name Parish has set a date for a trip to the Heinz History Center for a tour of the Vatican Treasures, which include several items from our very own St. Anthony’s Chapel. The trip will be held on Sunday, November 14th. After the 9 am Mass, a continental breakfast will be held in the school hall, we will then board the bus and have our tour. We will then stop for a lunch (site currently being negotiated), and then come back for a prayer service in the Chapel. The cost is currently being negotiated and will be in next weeks’ bulletin. This trip is not limited to parishioners. If interested, please call the office as soon as possible at 412-231-2994, ext. 0 to leave your name on the list.

CONFESSION SCHEDULE
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered on the first Saturday of each month from noon - 12:30 pm in Most Holy Name Church. We also offer Confession after mass at 6:00 pm Saturdays. Confession is also available at St. Aloysius Church on Saturdays from 3:15-3:45 pm. If these times do not accommodate you, please call the parish office to schedule at time.

PARISH GUIDE BOOK
All Most Holy Name Parishioners should have received a new copy of the Parish Guide Book. Please take a few moments to check your family’s information, and let us know if we need to make changes to your address, phone number, or household information. Changes can be corrected by calling the parish office at 412-231-2994, ext. 0, or by emailing mostholyname@hotmail.com.

ENTERTAINMENT BOOKS
ENTERTAINMENT BOOKS ARE HERE! The 2011 Entertainment Book has arrived. They are $25 this year and include coupons that can be used today—more coupons that last years’ book. Use it twice and it’s paid for! Pick yours up today at the parish office. As you know, they make great gifts!

WE WANT YOU!!!!!
The Special Education program is looking for volunteers to serve God’s Special People. Volunteers may choose to pray for our program and students; volunteer on Saturday mornings; or assist in making and organizing class materials. CHAPEL SANCTUARY CANDLE
Anyone wishing to have the Sanctuary Candle in St. Anthony’s Chapel or Most Holy Name Church lit for one week in memory of a loved one may do so by forwarding the name to the rectory with $20. We have many dates open for 2010. Please specify in the candle is for the Church or the Chapel, and make your check out accordingly.

MASS INTENTIONS
We have many dates available for Mass Intentions for 2010. There are openings for daily Masses, beginning in March. A ‘For the People’ intention will be reserved for every Wednesday. We also have many openings for the 7:30 a.m. Mass on Sundays. Masses can be scheduled by contacting the rectory.

TAKING UP THE GIFTS
Every week at Mass, we bring up the gifts of bread and wine that become the body and blood of Christ. If you have a Mass for the intention of a loved one, friend, or relative, please let one of our ushers know if you would like to bring up the gifts at offertory. Children are encouraged to participate in this Holy Offering. Please consider being a part of this very simple but important ministry.

ST. ANTHONY LYCEUM
